A Supportive Space
Meet your hosts
“I’ve been there. I’ve been that mum at the parent and baby group that felt swayed by everyone else’s opinions about work and motherhood.
And nearly every professional woman I have coached across maternity or parental leave has felt it too, the conflicted emotions, the doubt, and feeling like the odd one out because they actually want or need to return to their career.
This meet-up is about putting that right and creating a space where you can come be together with other smart women and their babies from a range of different sectors, share thoughts and get some fresh perspectives on working parenthood.”
Lynn White, Founder, Talent On Leave & Mum to Will (16), Ruaridh (14) and Harry (10)
“Many parents returning from maternity leave need flexibility at work, but don’t always know what’s possible or where to begin, and it can often feel like something they have to navigate alone.
This meet-up is about changing that experience, by creating a supportive space where women can come together with their babies, speak honestly about what they need, share their experiences, and start to imagine working lives that truly fit their families as well as their ambitions.”
Nikki Slowey, Co-Founder, Flexibility Works & Mum to Luke (20), Finn (17) and Christian (16)
“I would have jumped at the chance to come along to something like this when I was first returning to work after maternity leave. I’m delighted to be part of this and to share the insights and tips that help my clients overcome the sleep challenges they often face on maternity leave and in the return to work chapter. I’m obsessed with everything to do with sleep and have a passion for improving quality of life by supporting better sleep for the whole family”
Jen Fyvie, Infant Sleep Consultant, Registered Nurse & Adult CBT-I Sleep Therapist

It’s up to you. You might be in the early stages of your leave and craving the right kind of company, or half way through and already feeling worried about return. You might already be at the stage you are being asked about your return plans, or be about to return, or have recently returned and want a sense check with people who get it.
-
From experience, we know that keeping the numbers capped to around 20 women (with their babies) keeps the event feeling warm and personal.
To keep it fair, it will be first come first served but if there are no places left when you click to book, please select waiting list and we’ll let you know as and when space becomes available.
-
That’s entirely possible but even if you’re someone who just likes to listen, you’ll soon feel at home with us. And if you don’t, we won’t make it feel awkward for you to slip out the room.
-
Whilst it’s not a coaching or workshop event, our speaker sparks and q&a may offer you insights that will help to shape your next steps.

We know how tight finances can get on maternity leave so we’re inviting guests to make a pay-what-you-can donation in aid of our charity partner Baby Loss Retreat based in Glasgow. If you haven’t come across them yet, you can read more about their work here
